Subject: Re: [TDC] Transmittal of the Takoma Central District Plan (Small
Area Plan (...
I am sorry I did not respond to this email earlier, however, I wanted
to actually read the relevant law, before I responded. D.C. Code 1-301.64
states, in pertinent part, ". . . the Mayor shall transmit the revised
small
area action plan to the Council, with a proposed resolution, for a 45-day
period of review, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, legal holidays, and days
of Council recess. The transmission shall include copies of the Mayor's
public
hearing records, and an executive summary that identifies the differences,
and the rationale for the differences, between the revised small area
action plan and the proposed small area action plan that had been the
subject of a
public hearing. If the Council does not approve or disapprove the revised
small area action plan, in whole or in part, by resolution within this
45-day review period, the revised small area plan shall be deemed approved.

1) The Council is on recess next week;
2) I spoke with Council Chair Linda Cropp this morning about the Takoma
Central District Plan. She advised that, although there is little time
to schedule hearings in our Chambers within the next 45 days (because
of the FY 2003 budget hearings), she will look at alternative venues,
including our first floor hearing room, as a location to hold the hearing.
